Ah… Election Day!
I do not consider myself political. Which is why you’ll never see anything politics-related in any of my posts. But I do indeed vote. I like to say that the government can screw up just as well without me as it can with me, and I don’t feel I have the right to criticize the circus that is the US Government unless I actively vote.
The only election I’ve missed in the last 10+ years was the 2022 Primary. Mom was in Ruby Memorial that day, and she was well enough at that point that I was spending the days with her in the hospital room. I have yet to perfect teleportation or being in two places at once, so I chose Mom over voting.
Actually… if I’m being honest… I don’t think I realized it was Election Day until after the polls closed or perhaps even later that week.
If you really want to know what I believe and what kind of policies I support… well… chances are, you’ve already read them. You might not realize you have, but if you’ve read my stories, they’re there.
In terms of writing and my Q4 Challenge (which is kinda the whole purpose of this post), I do not have a clear recollection of how I spent Election Day. I didn’t vote that day, because I chose the option of early voting back in October.
But however I spent the day, it certainly wasn’t writing. I didn’t put a single word to paper.
