To paraphrase a song I’m familiar with… “Hello, my old friend. I’ve come to talk with you again.”
Incidentally, if you’re curious, I prefer the Disturbed version. The original from Simon & Garfunkel is just too slow for me.
I am horribly behind on Vorcalix. I will meet the pre-order date of April 16th for the ebook, but I’ve had to swap other novels into the narration schedule to give me time to finish Vorcalix and Sol.
And, yes… I will be pushing back the Sol pre-order on all the storefronts. Probably sometime this week.
I am not happy with any of this.
I continue to struggle with periodic bouts of apathy that a good friend has suggested might be connected to situational depression. If my friend is correct, I’m fairly confident as to the root cause. I will be traveling throughout the rest of the year to test my hypothesis.
But, good news!
I started writing again, and I’m almost finished with proofing Lynxeen‘s audio. I hope to have the final audio for publication by the end of the month… or the first week of March at the latest.
Hades has been settling in well, and even though he will make traveling a tad more complicated, I’m glad I adopted him. In other news, I think my training is going well. 🤣
I am considering expanding my travels to include live events… book fairs, conventions, and such. If any of you have any strong feelings on this one way or the other, feel free to drop a comment below or send me an email (contact@robertmkerns.com). I’m sure this will shock you, but I’ve never considered myself an especially social person. My singular experience with an in-person event was… underwhelming.
Yes, granted… I should never base a conclusion on just one data point, and I certainly shouldn’t write off such a large market as in-person events simply based on one underwhelming experience.
We’ll see. I’m still leaning in favor of ‘no,’ but I’ll keep turning it around in my head.
Hrmmm… let me see. Is there anything else?
I can’t think of anything off the top of my head. If you’re reading this, thanks for sticking with me.
I hope the days treat you and yours well. Stay safe out there.
Glad you seem to be doing better, Robert.
Winter time seems to give a number of people problems and this year, with the change in jet stream from the last several year’s pattern, could definitely give your some issues.
I myself am lucky that I only suffer from mild to moderate bouts of environmental allergies, and if anything the cold dreariness of a hard winter gives me a bit of pep in my step.
Hope you continue to do well and I look forward to your next release.
Hi, Robert,
I wish it were only restricted to winter, but you are absolutely right about that.
I hope the days treat you and yours well.
Regards,
Rob
I am glad to hear that you are doing okay and hope that you will be safe in your travels. I don’t pretend to know what it would be like to go to the book events as an author, but I do attend professional events for Project Management and I have found that when I attend I will invariably sit and just watch without joining in. To combat this personal tendency, I find that if I put together a short list of talking points, that I can ask questions of the group that I am with to bring out opinions and discussions about the industry or procedure or other things according to the meeting topic. Just thinking out loud here.
Thanks, looking forward to Lyxneen.
Thanks, William!
In the past, it has often felt like a huge weight vanishes from my shoulders about the time I pass Louisville, KY, on my way out west.
It might be a tad of an understatement to say that I am eagerly looking forward to that feeling. 🙂
Regards,
Rob
