Today was a bit of a slight challenge.

I think pushing to replicate 7,862-word days right out of the gate–when I haven’t been writing all that much–may not be the best idea.

So I’m going to train up to it.

Overall, it was a good day. I wrote 5,483 words in 3 hours and 47 minutes. That’s an average of 1,449.25 words per hour. Here, in case you’d like to squint at the screenshot:

On top of not hitting my previous word count target, you’ll notice that I didn’t just write on Tempus today. I hit a slight wall at the end of Chapter 7, and I think I need to sleep on it to figure out a proper transition to what comes next. Sometimes, a full night’s sleep is the best thing for creativity.

The other project is Book 1 of Series 2 of the shared world I’ve mentioned before. The first five-ish books of Series 2 in that world actually happen prior to where Series 1 starts, and I want to write them before I start Series 1 to keep continuity mistakes to a minimum.

Writing the shared world is going to be a lot of fun. I’m really looking forward to it, but I want to clear the decks first, so to speak, before I give myself over to it. Which means finishing The Fall of Skullkeep plus Tempus and maybe another book in the Primogenitor Saga.

All right. I think that’s enough of an update for now. Take care, and be safe out there.
